Large climate action investments this decade are crucial to protect California from deadly heat waves, catastrophic wildfires and pollution, and destructive cycles of drought, bomb cyclones, and flooding. Communities with the least will suffer the most. A strong, equitable climate bond will ensure they have the resources needed now.
California has a budget crisis and climate crisis. Both require solutions. Generations of progress towards a healthy environment and equal society will be undone if California’s leaders only cut funding for climate action. By placing a strong and equitable climate bond on the November ballot, they will give voters the chance to protect communities now and our kids from a dim climate future.
